The hand-cleft chestnut shingle is a traditional material many centuries old, found on countless listed buildings: church spires, castles, barns and outbuildings. Its use is compatible with the requirements of the Architectes des Bâtiments de France, the French heritage authority.
Compliant with the French DTU 40.29 (roofing) and 41.2 (cladding) codes and with Eurocode 5, and recognised by the French RE2020 regulation for its biogenic carbon storage.
